Annotation:
The main aim at the beginning of the new theatre season (2010/2011) in Andrej Bagar Theatre is to present the viewers interactive one women show. It has a chance to become in its interactivity and witty presentation the “stage delicacy”.
The monodrama HIGH DIVE written by an award-winning playwright Leslie AYVAZIAN presents a women who is about to turn her fifty and standing on a high dive at a pool in a hotel in Greece. She is telling us her life story. It is about a sequence of bizarre and at the first sight “breakneck” the life situations in which she gets because of her own self-sacrifice, overcare and assiduity. She, being terrified of heights, has managed to climb to the platform and now clings to the railings as she tries to will herself to leap into the blue Greek air and down into the water of the pool. As she stands on the board, she considers her life – and she decided to change it at all! She wants to live her life fully and free!
Fifty is exactly one of those turning point birthdays. Playwright performer Leslie Ayvazian always wanted to do a one-person show with a very large cast - she does indeed co-stars recruited from the audience. Andrej Bagar Theatre wants to present exactly this kind of the unique performance.
Thematic scope of the theatre performance will reflect the problem of searching the new sense of the women life at fifties. It will be a comedy with interactive features enriched with beautiful songs.
The High Dive will be introduced in Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra the 17th of September, directed by Svetozar Sprusansky and in the main role the “jubilee” actress of Andrej Bagar Theatre EVA PAVLÍKOVA. An interactive One-women show will be full of gentle humor, catchy tunes and some surprises on the stage!
