Who can join AmCham?
AmCham welcomes big and small companies, state companies, non-profit institutions and individuals; American, Slovak or International, practically any organization or person sharing our interest in promoting business and trade links between the US, Slovakia, and the rest of the world. Since its establishment in the Slovak Republic in 1993, AmCham has compiled a wealth of information resources and it can help facilitate your smooth transition to life in Slovakia. AmCham can put you in touch with other Americans companies and individuals as members of the international community and guide you to mutually beneficial local contacts.
What is the legal status of AmCham?
The American Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic was founded in 1993, as an independent non-profit organization, entirely depending on contributions from its members. AmCham does not accept any gifts, contributions or other financial support from any business entities, government organizations or political parties. AmCham is affiliated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is the world’s largest federation of business companies and associations.
What is the purpose of AmCham?
The American Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic is formed to advance the interests of the business community. They bring together business representatives of the United States and their counterparts in host countries to promote mutual business interests. AmCham serves as a forum for its members, who can fulfill their goals and missions easier than on their own.
What is AmCham doing?
1. Serves as a center for disseminating information, including contact names and addresses;
2. Keeps members apprised of changes in major rules, laws and regulations;
3. Organizes meetings periodically for representatives of American, Slovak, and other member businesses;
4. Acts as a centralized forum for enabling business representatives to air their grievances;
5. Creates a common agenda of needs and concerns that will act as a unified voice of the business community.
