What is the legal status of AmCham? The American Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic was founded in 1993, as
an independent non-profit organization, entirely depending on contributions
from its members. AmCham does not accept any gifts, contributions or other
financial support from any business entities, government organizations or
political parties. AmCham is affiliated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,
which is the world’s largest federation of business companies and associations.

What is the purpose of AmCham? The American Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic is formed to advance
the interests of the business community. They bring together business
representatives of the United States and their counterparts in host countries
to promote mutual business interests. AmCham serves as a forum for its members,
who can fulfill their goals and missions easier than on their own.

What is AmCham doing?
1. Serves as a center for disseminating information, including contact names and
addresses;
2. Keeps members apprised of changes in major rules, laws and regulations;
3. Organizes meetings periodically for representatives of American, Slovak, and
other member businesses;
4. Acts as a centralized forum for enabling business representatives to air their
grievances;
5. Creates a common agenda of needs and concerns that will act as a unified voice
of the business community.
