Employment and Social Affairs Committee - Call For Interest

AmCham has always been active in focusing on policy issues that are highly relevant for its member companies. Based on many discussions with our members over the last couple of months, as well as results of the recent FDI survey and the BSCF 2016 survey, we have identified the lack of qualified workforce as the main concern for a wide range of our members.

AmCham Board of Directors has designated 2017 as the “Year of Human Capital” in order to focus policy activities on both short-term fixes on the job market as well as long-term reforms in education that are essential for the future of the Slovak economy and Slovak society.

Hence, we will take an active approach towards restarting the Employment and Social Affairs Committee (ESAC) as one of the principal policy platforms for active dialogue with the relevant stakeholders.

The Employment and Social Affairs Committee plans to be involved in:
A.      Legislative agenda – the following legislation is expected to undergo changes in 2017:

  • Law on Foreigners´ Residence;
  • Law on Illegal Employment;
  • Law on Employment Services;
  • Labor Code.

B.      Any other employment-related issues that might be of interest to the committee members.

We would like to encourage you to join the next meeting of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee, which will take place on January 31, 2017 (Tuesday) at 10:00 AM at AmCham Office (Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1st floor). Share with us your concerns related to employment and social affairs issues affecting your business and join us in improving the business environment.

We look forward to meeting you at the meeting! We kindly ask you to confirm your participation on the first committee meeting to Peter Rusiňák at peter.rusinak@amcham.sk or +421-948-592775.

Thank you.
