AmCham Slovakia calls for more transparent, predictable and inclusive regulatory framework in the energy sector

On March 1, AmCham in cooperation with eight business associations and chambers of commerce held Press Conference dedicated to the current developments in the energy sector in Slovakia. 

Mrs. Michaela Benedigova (Vice-president of AmCham), Mr. Tomáš Malatinský (President of AZZZ) and Mr. Miroslav Kiraľvarga (President of RÚZ), presented a Joint Statement calling on the Government for the systematical changes leading to a more transparent, predictable and inclusive regulatory framework in the energy sector.

The respective Joint Statement recommends: (1) creating a new regulatory framework (2) forming an integrated dialogue of the state authorities with the experts and businesses in energy sector and (3) transforming the URSO's institutional reorganization into an independent national regulatory authority.

The initiators aim for responsible state authorities to endorse the above-mentioned suggestions and do their utmost to build upon these recommendations with concrete actions with no delay.

The Joint Statement is supported by the American chamber of Commerce in Slovakia (AmCham), the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia, Federation of employers’ association of the Slovak republic (AZZZ), the French-Slovak Chamber of Commerce, the Republican Union of Employers (RÚZ), the Slovak-Austrian Chamber of Commerce, the Slovak Business Alliance (PAS), the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SOPK), and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia.
