AmCham announces upcoming transition in leadership

The American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia (AmCham), leading trade association representing more than 350 member companies from 27 countries around the world, announces the transition of leadership of the organization.

Jake Slegers, Executive Director of AmCham since 2001, and the AmCham Board of Directors have agreed on a transition period to the end of April 2018. The Board of Directors will be looking to appoint a new Executive Director prior to that date.
Jake Slegers, Executive Director of AmCham  says: "I must say that it has been a unique privilege and honor for me to serve as the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia for the past 17 years. I have, however, come to the point in my life where I would like to actively pursue other opportunities and challenges. I am proud of the fact that, since I became Executive Director in 2001, AmCham Slovakia has grown considerably from 117 members to a robust base of over 350 valuable member companies and organizations. Indeed, AmCham Slovakia has become one of the most influential and highly respected business associations in Slovakia. "

Todd Bradshaw, President of AmCham Slovakia adds: "Jake has been very instrumental in building the position of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia over the last 17 years.  During this period AmCham has successfully developed into one of the leading trade organizations in the Slovak Republic focused on improving the business environment and strengthening corporate governance in the interests of its members.  Jake has built a strong team at AmCham which cover membership services, policy and advocacy initiatives, and events."

"We want to sincerely thank Jake for his loyalty, dedication and the legacy he will leave as a result of his work during this critical period of development of the chamber in Slovakia.  We wish Jake all the best in his future endeavors," concludes Todd Bradshaw, President of AmCham Slovakia.
