Bratislava (25 January 2012) Squire Sanders has announced that Jana Pagáčová has rejoined its Bratislava office as a European partner in the corporate team.
Jana joins the global legal practice from Ružička Csekes s.r.o. in association with CMS where
she led the firm’s corporate and transaction working group. She also served as in-house
counsel at the Czech and Slovak American Enterprise Fund in Slovakia, prior to spending five
years at Squire Sanders as a senior associate.
Jana’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate, financial services, energy and
regulatory and intellectual property. She has considerable experience advising both national
and international clients on acquisitions, sales, mergers and divestitures involving Slovak
businesses. She has also advised on the privatization of state-owned companies, cross-border
mergers and equity investments via venture capital funds in Slovakia.
In addition, Jana has intellectual property expertise, including representing clients in
proceedings before the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic.
Julian Juhasz, Bratislava office managing partner, said: “We are very pleased that Jana is
returning to Squire Sanders. She is one of the most prominent M&A lawyers in Slovakia, with
unparalleled experience in advising on multi-jurisdictional transactions.
“We believe that our global network provides the perfect platform for Jana’s expertise. She
will play a significant role in helping us develop our services to benefit our clients.”
Commenting on her appointment, Pagáčová said: “I am excited to rejoin Squire Sanders. The
firm has undergone considerable change during the past year, with two combinations giving it
greater strength in depth across Europe and greater presence in the Asia Pacific region. I look
forward to playing a part in the firm’s continued development at both a local and global level.”
