The proposals, initiatives and decisions made at the EU level have a significant impact on Slovakia and thus also on AmCham member companies. At the same time, many Slovak laws and government efforts are directly linked to the EU initiatives. Therefore, the main goals of this Committee are:

  • to provide a better overview of what is happening at the EU level
  • to increase the level of preparedness of AmCham member companies for upcoming legislative efforts
  • to increase the likelihood of AmCham Committees’ involvement in drafting Slovak legislation

In order to achieve these goals, the Committee:

  • Monitors EU developments in designated areas
  • Organizes events (e.g. debates, business breakfasts, etc.) in Slovakia on EU topics with relevant stakeholders
  • Organizes visits to Brussels for AmCham member companies
  • Cooperates with EU organizations and relevant stakeholders in Slovakia and in the EU
