In order to review the progress and success of the past year, the
members of AmCham Slovakia gathered for the annual General Assembly on
April 20, 2011. As has become a tradition with this event, the venue was
Bratislava’s Primacialny palace and the Master of Ceremonies was Jake
Slegers, Executive Director of AmCham Slovakia, who celebrates his 10th
anniversary as AmCham Executive Director this year.
AmCham Concerned Over Slovakia's Posiiton on WEF Global Competitiveness Report

Bratislava, September 9, 2010 – Today the World Economic Forum released its annual Global Competitiveness Report that ranks 139 world economies according to how their competitive landscape is developing. The rankings are calculated from publicly available data and an executive opinion survey conducted among business leaders.
AmCham Board Meets With Prime Minister Robert Fico

(March 23, 2010, Bratislava) Today, at the AmCham office, the AmCham
Board of Directors met with the Slovak Prime Minister, Robert Fico.
Initial discussion focused on the follow-up from the previous meeting
with the Prime Minister, during which he requested that AmCham assist
the Slovak Government with, among other things, improving
business-academic cooperation and euro introduction.
AmCham Slovakia has started celebrating its 15th Anniversary

Bratislava, November 6, 2008 – It has been 15 years since the American
Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) started its activities in Slovakia: on
October 27, 1993 elections to the Board of Directors and the first
meeting of the Board were held at the Danube Hotel in Bratislava. A
press conference followed the board meeting.
The mission of AmCham is to contribute to creating a vibrant business
environment in Slovakia.

AmCham Seeks Further Consideration in Labor Code Provisions

As an organization representing more than 310 Slovak, American and other
foreign companies operating in Slovakia (including the most significant
investors), who employ more than 130,000 people in the Slovak Republic
and generate approximately 20 per cent of Slovakia’s GDP, the American
Chamber of Commerce in the Slovak Republic (AmCham) is strongly
commitment to be involved in the discussions on the revision of the
Labor Code in SR.
“Independence Day Celebration at Bratislava Castle”

The American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia is hosting the 12th Annual
Independence Day Celebration. The event will take place on Saturday,
July 1, 2006 at 5 p.m. at the Bratislava Castle Grounds. AmCham expects
800 guests to attend and take part in the traditional American picnic,
festive dance and musical performances.
“AmCham Sponsors New Book on Business Opportunities in Slovakia”

On March 29, 2006 the American Chamber of Commerce organized breakfast
with journalists from selected media and co-authors of the new book
“Business Opportunities in Slovakia and Central Europe”. American
Chamber of Commerce has decided to sponsor the book as part of its
educational mission.
