Citi Appoints Jan Melichar as Citi Country Officer and Banking Head for Slovakia

Citibank Europe plc has appointed Jan Melichar as the Citi Country Officer (CCO) and Banking Head for Slovakia and Branch Manager for Citibank Europe plc, pobočka zahraničnej banky (CEP Slovakia).

As CCO and Banking Head and Branch Manager for CEP Slovakia, Jan will act as Citi’s lead representative in the country. He will be responsible for driving the growth of all CEP Slovakia’s businesses and be accountable for bringing the full value of Citi’s global network to the bank’s clients. Jan will also lead the franchise to ensure the highest standards of regulatory controls and compliance.

Jan joins CEP Slovakia from the bank’s office in Prague, where he was most recently the Global Network Banking Head for Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Since joining Citi in 1999, Jan has been responsible for the global subsidiaries business, focusing on the automotive industry and with a special focus on Foreign Direct Investment, capturing the flows of Japanese and Korean investors.

He was previously Global Subsidiaries Group (GSG) Head Czech Republic in 2008, and in 2013 his remit was expanded to cover the GSG franchise in Slovakia.
